In 1984, Rick Hendrick started All-Star Racing with Harry Hyde, joining the Winston Cup that season with their first driver, Geoff Bodine. Soon after, they renamed the team Hendrick Motorsports, and in 1986, brought on their second driver, Tim Richmond. From there, the team’s legend only grew, boasting championship names, including four-time champion Jeff Gordon and seven-time champion Jimmie Johnson. Suffice it to say, Hendrick Motorsports lived up to its original name and put all-star drivers on the track – in other words, the team became the home of racing legends.
