The Porsche 908/3s returned in 1971 with several improvements, including the distinctive vertical tailfins shared with their 917 brethren.  At the Nürburgring, Porsche clinched their third consecutive International Championship for Makes with a heroic 1-2-3 finish.  Martini Racing car #4, came home in third in the hands of Gijs van Lennep and Helmut Marko.
