Entered in the 1970 Targa Florio by the Porsche family-owned Salzburg team, #20 qualified a solid third in the hands of aces Vic Elford and Hans Herrmann.  However, things didn’t go to plan as Elford crashed out of the race, and Herrmann missed his opportunity to drive.  Herrmann was soon to be vindicated, as he went on to give the Porsche 917 its first Le Mans victory a few weeks later.
